Although full leather suits are the best motorcycle racing gear available today for any rider, a bit problem can come regarding the comfort of wearing them when riding in the hot weather. The main purpose of leather suits is to provide impact and abrasion resistance, which is essential in motorcycle racing. But, leather is not the most comfortable material to wear all day since it is not very porous.
To address heat complaints, most of the relatively modern variations of leather suits come with elements that enhance airflow. Such features could be:
Perforation: Certain leather suits include holes built into the back or chest panels to promote ventilation thereby cooling the rider
Mesh Panels: These down parts of the suit are made of mesh to allow circulation of air inside the suit
Lining Materials: Most of the focal Male Hadrlinements include nets or membranes of various fabrics that meet these requirements.
Ventilation Zippers: Certain suits are equipped with zippers to allow more air flow in when the weather gets warm.
Aerodynamics: Designs to reduce heat include features that enhance air circulation around the rider.
However, in the case of an extremely hot day, even with all these measures the heat may still pose a serious issue. In such cases it’s often that riders give up the comforts of the leather suits, add personal fans or other cooling devices and drink a lot. Also after track days or races riders usually have a hiatus between sessions where they cool themselves down.
